Apr 14 - Fight for $15 National Day of Action Erie City Hall 4 pm. Info  814-450-8652  http://fightfor15.org/ "On Thursday April 14th, we will be hitting the streets in the largest mass mobilization of healthcare workers in Pa History. Good jobs and strong communities start with a living wage! Its time to remind our employers that if you work full time you should not have to live in poverty or rely on public assistance."
Apr 14 - WQLN Premiere "Liberty Under Law: The Robert H. Jackson Story" 8-9p.m. "Liberty under Law takes viewers from the forests and farms of Spring Creek, Pennsylvania, to the halls of justice, where Robert H. Jackson served as U.S. Solicitor General, U.S. Attorney General, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, and American Chief Prosecutor of top Nazi leaders at the Nuremberg Trial."

Apr 16 - National Water Dance: The Ripple Effect Mercyhurst University, Erie PA. “Part of National Water Dance, ‘The Ripple Effect integrates environmental advocacy with the arts through a performance of colorful movements refleting Erie’s nautical environment.”
Apr 16 – Lunafest 2016    Robert H Jackson Center, Jamestown NY Short films “by, for, and about women. The total run time of this season’s program is just under 90 minutes.”
Apr 16 “Confirmation” (2016) HBO, new movie premiere date regarding Anita Hill’s sexual harassment accusations against Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.

Apr 17 - Heron Zydeco Party Shawbucks, Jamestown NY 3-7pm. Hosted by Great Blue Heron Music Festival. "Shawbuck's kitchen will be open with a special menu, including Green Heron Growers' burgers, vegetarian options and other delicious Shawbucks food items!" (Great Blue Heron and Green Heron Growers = same folks!)

Apr 18 - Sister Maura Smith Earth Day Lecture: Tim DeChristoper 7pm Taylor Little Theater, Mercyhurst, Erie PA. "Speaker Tim DeChristopher is best-known for disrupting a Bureau of Land Management oil and gas auction in December 2008, posing as Bidder 70 and outbidding oil companies for parcels around Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah. For his act of civil disobedience, DeChristopher was sentenced to two years in federal prison. He has used this as a platform to argue the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for bold, confrontational action in order to create a just and healthy world. He organized the climate justice organization Peaceful Uprising in Salt Lake City, and most recently founded the Climate Disobedience Center." Free and open to the public. Apr 26 – Environment Erie Social Hour “Please join Environment Erie at the Juice Jar in the Colony Plaza on West 8th Street for our quarterly Social Hour. This is a chance to network with like minded individuals and experience what one of our partners offers in their business. The Jusice Jar, which is new to our community offers a wholesome menu that is good for the mind, body, and environment. May 7 – “Women on Fire” 1891 Fredonia Opera House, Fredonia NY 7:30pm. Presented by O’Connell & Co. Twelve emotionally-charged monologues explore the breacth of women’s issues with humor and wisdom.

May 10 - Erie Green Drinks "Every month people who work in the environmental field and those who have interest in environmental issues meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks. Green Drinks attracts a lively mixture of people from all walks of life, including NGOs, academia, government, business and students. These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. The mission of Erie Green Drinks is to provide a place in northwestern PA where environmentally and green minded people can mingle and have a great time. Please feel free to join them at the Brewerie at Union Square in the barber shop area at 6:30 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month!"
May 14 - Bike Around the Bay "New for 2016!! Bike Around the Bay will take place on Presque Isle State Park. All Riders will begin the ride from the Cookhouse pavilion, and Lunch will take place at the Rotary Pavilion. We hope to see you there!"
