  • Erie County voters: I called local Voter Services on April 30, and the staff person said Erie County mail in ballots "have been sent to the printers." Voters were previously notified that a court issue in the county would make ballots late. 

COMMUNITY

Tool Lending Library is creating a neighborhood park at 329 E. 28th in Erie. There is a bit of work to be done, including  collecting (trees, shrubs, flowers) and planting, and sifting through 25 years worth of trash in the soil. Visit their Facebook page for more details on helping transform this formerly blighted property. Tool Lending Library's mission is "Giving neighbors the tools to build better neighborhoods."

WORKING PEOPLE

Nurses Week 2021: Vigil for Patient Safety - Erie  May 10  5:30 PM Perry Square  601 State St Erie PA "This Nurses Week is not the time for inauthentic appreciation and gifts that have no meaning. Arts and Agency Week Recorded Videos " Erie Arts & Culture, in collaboration with the CHROMA Guild, hosted the first annual Arts + Agency Week, during April 11-17, 2021. During this week, artists, cultural organizations, and advocacy groups explored the ways the arts are being leveraged to raise awareness of systemic issues, amplify under-represented voices, and generate creative solutions to societal challenges. Erie County Sheriff Democratic candidates remarks (from Millcreek Township Democratic Committee). Forum includes responses from the 2 Dem candidates for sheriff (starts at 46:20). One of the questions involved dealing with white supremacists, and questions about their thoughts on how it relates to employment in the Sheriff's department.
