Jul 6 - VIGIL: BOMB TRAINS Noon Erie Federal Bldg "Crude Oil Trains = Bomb Trains. 32 of these bomb trains go through Erie every week. The bomb trains that I have seen on the tracks near Iroquois Ave., or going over the train trestle at 16th and Ash, seem to have at least 100 tanker cars. Each tanker car holds 30,000 gallons of highly combustible crude oil. Four trains hauling crude oil have derailed in the U.S. and Canada since mid-February, rupturing tank cars, spilling their contents, polluting waterways and igniting spectacular fireshat burned for days. The derailments have deepened safety concerns that if an oil-train accident were to occur in a populated area, the results could be disastrous. These trains do run through populated areas in Erie." Event hosted by Erie Benedictines for Peace.
Jul 6-12 -  STOP OIL TRAINS: Week of Action "July 6 is the second anniversary of the tragic Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, oil train catastrophe that killed 47 people. The Stop Oil Trains week of action will call attention to the growing threat of oil trains across North America."
Jul 9 -  "COWSPIRACY: THE SUSTAINABILITY SECRET" Tinseltown. "The Sustainability Secret is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following an intrepid filmmaker as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today – and investigates why the world's leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it. As eye-opening as Blackfish and as inspiring as An Inconvenient Truth, this shocking yet humorous documentary reveals the absolutely devastating environmental impact large-scale factory farming has on our planet."
