Aug 7 - VIGIL: JUSTICE FOR IMMIGRANTS 2nd & State 5:15pm, The vigil prays for immigration reform, asking that a law be passed that has three main provisions: —a clear path to citizenship —assurance of family unity—stop deportations—protection for the rights of immigrant workers. Hosted by Benedictines for Peace. 
Aug 15 - LADYFEST AT BASEMENT TRANSMISSIONS 145 W 11th Erie PA. "This event will feature lady-fronted live music as well as feminist inspired crafters, workshops, art and an edition of Erie's own Battlefield diy zine." 
Aug 22 - INTERNATIONAL UNITY FESTIVAL 10am to 6pm Rodger Young Park, Downing Ave & Buffalo Rd., Erie PA. "Please join us for a day-long cultural festival including food, cultural dances, music, a fashion show and more. All are welcome to bring a cultural food dish to share." Aug 26-28 - 'TOWN SHRINK" "Columbia University professor of psychiatry, Dr. Mindy Thompson Fullilove, will visit Erie in August to discuss how urban design decisions can increase or reduce violence, and harm or help community and minority health. Her keynote talk will be Thursday evening, August 27 at at time and location to be announced. She will also be meeting with small groups Aug. 26-28. Marcus Atkinson will interview Fullilove for the NEXT with Marcus Atkinson show on WQLN." Check Facebook event page for updates. 
Aug 28-29 - BURNING RIVER FEST "Since 2001, folks from all over the Great Lakes region have come together to remember the 1969 burning of the Cuyahoga River and celebrate the renewed sense of eco-consciousness the infamous fire sparked. In 2015, Burning River Fest invites guests to discover and celebrate Cleveland’s historic Coast Guard Station with live music, fresh food from local farms and eateries, chef demos, and plenty of GLBC beer, including Burning River Pale Ale, Oktoberfest, and a special, yet to be determined beer perfect for summer and the Burning River Fest. Festival goers will be able to dance, eat, drink and socialize while celebrating one of Cleveland’s most unique monuments".

Oct 19 -MEDEA BENJAMIN IN ERIE Medea Benjamin will now speak at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery on Monday, October 19, 2015, at 7pm. Marlene Bertke is looking for recommendations of faculty at area schools who would be interested in sharing this event with their students.
