Allegheny College, Art galleries, Meadville PA. ."Co-organized and curated by Heather Brand and Amara Geffen Opening Reception: Tuesday, November 3, 7-9 p.m. "This group exhibition examines our relationship to water both as a vital resource and also as a catalyst for aesthetically and socially engaging creations. The artists work with water as both subject and medium, creating a space for inquiry, education, and reflection. The exhibition will include public events, community workshops, and artworks by Allegheny College students who will also explore these ideas. Artist Basia Irland will be in residence October 4-9 to create a series of riparian zone ice books to be included in a community book launch at locations along Mill Run and French Creek. These events will coincide with Year of Meadville events. Artists Betsy Damon and Rebecca Allan ’86 will lead a gallery talk at the opening reception. I have set up a couple things on Facebook I would like to make you aware of ~deb- ANOTHER PLACE This is for and about Erie's new American, immigrant and refugee communities. Not affiliated with any organization so it's a little more out there. Local news plus links to stories about immigration issues, and shareable memes and stories. I started it up on Columbus Day 2014 for a purpose... there is also an accompanying blog though at this point it mainly is for listing what has been posted on Facebook.
