May 5 - Senate Democratic Policy Hearing on Natural Gas Drilling in the Lake Erie Watershed 10am - Noon, Blasco Library, Hirt Auditorium, 160 E. Front Street, Erie, PA Held by Senator Lisa Boscola, who chairs the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Policy Committee, along with Senator Sean Wiley. Testimonies will be presented by invited participants representing organizations involved. Sr. Pat Lupo, O.B. will testify representing the Our Water, Our Air, Our Rights group and other area environmental groups. The Media and Public are invited to attend this free event.

Sister Helen Prejean has been instrumental in sparking national dialogue on the death penalty and helping to shape the Catholic Church’s newly vigorous opposition to state executions.. Dead Man Walking is based on her life and work. She will be speaking at Mount St. Benedict as part of the Benedictines for Peace Speaker Series About Sister Helen

There is a hat for every occasion, from flirting to churchgoing to funerals to baptisms, and the tradition of hats is traced back to African rituals and slavery and forward to the New Testament and current fashion."
