Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices keep mail-in voting law in place, at least for now

NY legislators want more use of complete streets    "The Complete Streets policy, which has been adopted by Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties and several area municipalities, recommends all modes of travel be considered in the design of projects."

2 Black men among 9 sworn into Erie police force, replacing retiring officers 

Petition: Retire the Racist Mascot at Erie's East Middle School Erie School Board Director Jay Breneman raised this issue and started this petition to the Erie School Board
Our Erie podcast was selected as Erie Reader's 2021 Best Local Podcast. Hosts Marty Nwachukwu and Lydia Laythe present weekly episodes. "The Our Erie series will bring citizens, entrepreneurs, activists, politicians and thought leaders together for a frank discussion around societal issues facing the post-industrial city of Erie, Pennsylvania and the United States at large"

Erie Talk in the Morning is an old school call-in show on a right-wing radio station, hosted 6-8am on WJET AM 1400. The callers are generally older white males who rehash the same stuff, but politically independent host Scott Bremner really wants callers with something new and intelligent to say, so your call would probably be appreciated. It's hard to listen to, but worth considering for sharing info or opinions, as the audience seems to be broader than what calls in. 

UKRAINE

Erie peace event for Ukraine Mar 5   1pm Perry Square, Erie PA Host: First Ukrainian Pentecostal    Church. Also, church is  accepting donations of medical supplies for soldiers, including pain medication 
such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, alcohol wipes, gauze and bandages. Donations can be dropped off at the church, but officials asked that donors call or text Pastor Rogulchik at 814-528-7409 or Pastor Vladymir Snitko at 814-602-1079 before leaving any supplies. (via Kristen Nichole)

GEMISH

Erie's Juneteenth celebration planned for June 18-19. Jamestown Juneteenth Celebration will take place again in June but there are plans to have several events leading up to it Jamestown Juneteenth Celebration

First Names added to animal abuse registry in CHQ Co. "The local law prevents convicted offenders from adopting, purchasing or obtaining animals from any animal shelter or pet seller. It also requires animal shelters and pet sellers to examine the registry to confirm that the name of the potential owner is not listed."

Allegany Nature Pilgrimage returns June 3-5, registrations now open. Allegany State Park.
