Although I am pro-choice, I have always respected the beliefs and sensitivities of those who embrace the consistent life ethic, briefly summed up in Joan Chittester's now-viral quote about "life" involving more than birth.
I understand that for those holding those beliefs they are all of a piece with their concerns about hunger, shelter, war, justice, health care, and more.
For the foreseeable future, there will be events and discussions about reproductive issues that I will be including in my sort-of monthly mailing.
And I know this makes it hard and less shareable for those whose sincerely held beliefs are very different.
So what I've done is set up a different list... basically the same contents, but you will find it to be more shareable among consistent life people. It is basically the same, includes all the other stuff that we have in common--both mailings are basically about the things we share -- but in the new list I will just be leaving out items related to abortion.
I am not sure if this is the best way to go, please let me know your thoughts.
For those I know to have those beliefs, i have already put you on a list to receive it. If you would rather i would rather receive the original, I can change that back. If you received a mailing called the Social Justice Newsletter, you are already on the new list.
Thank you for your time and for all you do.
Peace, deb 💗
