Podcaster John Kane (Cattaraugus Seneca Nation) recently featured an episode called The Legacy of Residential Schools Guest Keith Burich (at 16:00) is a WNY historian and author of The Thomas Indian School and the Irredeemable Children of New York, about the residential school near Irving NY. Buffalo NBC affiliate WGRZ did a report in 2016 called The Thomas Indian School: A Forgotten Tragedy. 2009 documentary Unseen Tears, produced by Native American Community Services lets survivors of Thomas Indian School and Mohawk Institute tell their stories. It also highlights the efforts to heal the wounds and break the cycle of intergenerational trauma stemming from those experiences.

To commemorate Juneteenth, Erie Arts & Culture teamed up with Erie's Black Wall Street to present a list of black-owned businesses in our community.
Erie Arts & Culture has also published an updated directory of small businesses owned by former refugees in Erie.
