Aug 18 - Statewide Community Mapping Conversation Fair Districts PA 7PM

Aug 24 - NW PA Congressional Redistricting hearing 9 AM at the J. Howard Pew Fine Arts Center at Grove City College. Hearings are open to the public. While sign up is required to provide in-person testimony at the hearings (link below), registration is not required to attend. Each regional hearing will be live-streamed at www.paredistricting.com, and full recording of each hearing, along with accompanying written testimony, will also be posted to the website for later viewing. Written testimony can also be submitted at the link http://paredistricting.com/nwhearing

JUSTICE                   

ANIMAL LAW         

Humane PA listing of Legislation Affecting Animals 2021/22 is very informative and easy to understand guide a  for those who want to encourage PA legislators to support animal welfare. Fortunately this is no longer considered a fringe issue, and enjoys broad support. 
Demonstrations in Erie against Heartland Pets' treatment of animals. (Erie News Now 7/31/2021). July 31 action was called and organized by a passionate group of community members. Another Heartland Pets action is planned for Aug. 14 at 1pm. 
Erie Puppy Mill Awareness is "a 501(c)3 with a mission to make Erie Co. more humane by raising awareness & igniting activism against puppy mills & their outlets." The group has been around since 2011.

THE BIG LIE IN PA

Pennsylvania Capital-Star seems like the best place to keep up with The Big Lie and Fraudit shenanigans in PA.
Doug Mastriano was photographed at least four times with insurrectionist Samuel Lazar, who is facing federal charges for allegedly assaulting police in the Capitol that day. PA "fraudit" proponent Mastriano bused Trump supporters to the US Capitol Jan. 6. Media Matters found that Mastriano promoted QAnon on Twitter over 50 times: check the article for other Mastriano wingnuttery. 
Sen. Dan Laughlin denounces audit in op-ed (Reuters 7/29/2021) Tioga county commissioners received death threats when they declined Mastriano's invitation to conduct an audit. Self-appointed election integrity committee in York Co. a self-appointed election integrity committee was knocking on doors demanding to know how people voted.
State decertified Fulton Co. voting machines after they violated the state election code by giving a third party access to its election databases and other certified equipment in an audit.
