Jan 10 – Rosewater 1891 Fredonia Opera House, Fredonia NY. “That the movie is as tense and chilling as it is owes much to first-time director Jon Stewart’s keen eye for the way humor surfaces even in the dark places.” - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone. 
Jan 11 - Close Guantanamo   National event in DC, check site for others around the country and the world. Also note May 25 event.
Jan 15-Feb 8 -Confronting Injustice: A Woman’s Voice Mercyhurst, Erie PA. This exhibit features new works by local and regional female artists, inspired by Mercyhurst University’s academic theme for 2014-15, Confronting Injustice. Jan 19 -Martin Luther King Jr. Day Keynote Address by The Rev. Dr. Allan Boesak Allegheny College, Meadville PA. 11am.
Jan 19-Mar 5 - "Performing Blackness:: Performing Whiteness" Allegheny College, Meadville PA This exhibition examines constructions of racial identity to complicate popular rhetoric around race. The artworks interrogate oversimplifying binaries and destabilize the often unexamined position of “whiteness.”
